Viburnum tinus 'Eve Price' Half StandardCultivar of Viburnum tinus, native to the Mediterranean basin. Densely branched shrub, very compact. Evergreen, oval, lanceolate, dark green, thick leaves, acuminate at the tip, 5-8cm long. Starting from November it is completely covered in pinkish-red buds which remain closed until February when they open into white flowers and persist until April. Grows in the poorest soil, in the driest places where there is either sun or shade. In the sun it grows compact and flowers so exuberantly that the leaves are completely hidden; in the shade the flowers are less numerous but last longer and are more brightly coloured. Withstands the cold but it is not a mountain plant.
