Viburnum lucidum BallRapid growing, evergreen, dense, bushy, upright shrub. Beautiful, large, oval or elongated leaves, up to 20 cm long, 10 cm wide, very leathery and green, rivalling the Magnolia g. ‘Gallissoniensis’ for glossiness and in autumn often turning bright red. White flowers clustered in apical umbels at the end of spring. Hardy. Tolerates drastic pruning and adapts to all types of soil except if too calcareous.
