Tree native to Europe and the Middle East with a rounded crown. Leaves similar to T. platyphyllos, dark green on top and silver underneath. Fragrant and numerous flowers in June-July. When grown in dry soils, it loses its leaves earlier, resists drought and pollution. Used in parks and avenues.
