Our Plants
Taxus baccata
Conifer native to Europe, North Africa, and Iran, with main branches growing horizontally and secondary ones weeping; when left to grow naturally, it takes on a conical shape. Male cones are yellow in spring, followed by very decorative red fruits. Grows in all well-drained, rich soils, including chalky and acidic ones. Tolerates heavy and repeated pruning, as well as competition with older trees, and is used for hedges, topiary art, and as a Giant Garden Bonsai.
