Tamarix tetrandra (Tamarix africana)
Tree or shrub with red branches when young, deciduous needle-like leaves, and light green color. It blooms profusely in mid-spring with light pink flowers borne by dark pink buds. Cultivation needs are like T. ramosissima but requires less severe pruning after flowering, which occurs on the previous year's branches. Resistant to sea conditions, it has the same uses as T. ramosissima.
