Styrax japonicus
Shrub or small tree native to China, Korea, and Japan with a wide crown often drooping at the ends. Deciduous leaves are oval or elongated and pointed. Bell-shaped flowers bloom in May, white with yellow stamens. Disease-resistant, requires fresh and well-drained soils, from neutral to acidic. Often planted in high positions for its flowers gathered in hanging racemes.
