Styrax
Shrub or small tree native to China, Korea, and Japan with a wide crown often drooping at the tips. Deciduous leaves are oval or elongated and pointed. Bell-shaped flowers appear in May, white with yellow stamens. Disease-resistant, it requires cool, well-drained soils ranging from neutral to acidic. It is often planted in elevated positions for its flowers arranged in hanging racemes.
