Shrub native to South Africa with large evergreen leaves 1.5 m long, rigid, bottle green, borne on 2 m petioles. Blooms with 50 cm hanging racemes bearing flowers with elongated white sepals and blue petals. When grown in pots, it requires fertile soil and partial shade exposure; large containers are needed due to its extensive roots, with fertile, well-drained soil.
