Spartium junceum
Large shrub native to Southern Europe, with erect, rush-like stems that are dark green, with few elongated leaves. It blooms from May to August with bright yellow flowers grouped in terminal panicles 30-40 cm long. It grows in poor soils and is used to stabilize slopes, in rock gardens, and in compositions with lower shrubs that cover the bare base.
