Sorbus aucuparia BushOrigin: Europe, Asia Minor, North Africa. Deciduous tree with upright habit, sometimes feathered, round with age. Leaves 15-22cm long made up of 6-8 pairs of toothed leaflets. White flowers in corymbs in May-June, followed by coral-red fruit, very attractive to birds. No particular requirements as regards soil but prefers it to be rich in humus. Will not withstand long periods of drought or summer heat.
