Sophora japonica 'Pendula' StandardOrigin: England. Deciduous tree which is propagated by grafting on S. japonica. From the point of grafting, in the first years the green branches hang down vertically and later they spread out and twist forming a broad, picturesque crown - a real green umbrella which in the summer the sun’s rays cannot penetrate, a tangle of curved branches, stunning to see after the leaves have fallen. Leaves and growing requirements: the same as the type. Flowers and fruit: the same as the type but less numerous.
