A compact shrub with evergreen, rigid, oval leaves, light green in color, fragrant, and 8-12 cm long. It blooms in March-April with clusters of 5-8 cm white-pink flowers, followed by bright red berries. It requires fertile soils, from acidic to slightly alkaline. It is used in rock gardens, shrub groups, and also grows well in pots and containers.
