Sambucus nigra
Shrub or small tree with scaly and corky bark. Deciduous leaves made up of 5-7 leaflets. It blooms in June with aromatic, white, umbrella-shaped flowers at the tips, later flowering with shiny black berries. Hardy, it grows better in calcareous soils and cool places. It is resistant to pollution and is used alone, for groves, hedges, and to stabilize the soil.
