Salvia officinalis BushOrigin: South Europe. Famous aromatic plant indispensable in the kitchen, but also a small shrub with oval or ovate lanceolate, leaves, silvery grey, slightly toothed, very fragrant. Flowers, 2.5cm long, tubular, in upright racemes, mauve, throughout the summer. Grows well everywhere but prefers dry soils.
