Our Plants
Salvia argentea -
Perennial plant native to a region of southern Europe from Portugal to Bulgaria. Salvia argentea has a wide spread of basal leaves covered with silky hairs giving it a woolly appearance. The leaves are soft to the touch, initially emerging as a characteristic silvery white and then turning gray-green after flowering. The cool autumn climate makes the leaves silvery again. Flowers appear in spring or summer on candelabra-like stems that rise well above the foliage. The inconspicuous white flowers turn yellow or pink. After flowering, it is necessary to remove the flower stalks at the base, eliminate any dry basal leaves, and it is important not to step on or soil the leaves with soil. If this happens, let the soil dry and then remove it by blowing or brushing it away. Under non-optimal conditions, it behaves like a biennial plant.
