Quercus phellos
Tree native to the central and southeastern United States with an oval crown, smooth gray bark that peels in some areas. The leaves are evergreen or semi-evergreen in mild climates, deciduous in cold climates, green in spring and orange in autumn, elongated, 5-15 cm long, and similar to those of the willow. It blooms in May with golden yellow racemes, while the fruits are round acorns 1-2 cm in size. It is wind-resistant and used in large gardens and parks.
