Quercus frainetto (Q. conferta, Q. pannonica)
Majestic tree native to the Balkans, with gray bark and a rounded, dense crown. Deciduous leaves bright green in color, measuring 20 cm long and 12 cm wide, lobed. Blooms in May with golden-yellow racemes 7-10 cm long. Later fruits in groups of 2-5 acorns measuring 1-2 cm. Requires rich soil, preferably clayey. Highly wind-resistant and used in avenues and parks.
