Quercus cerris
Tree native to Southern Europe and Western Asia, large in size with a broad crown. The deciduous leaves are green, oval, lobed, and 6-12 cm long. It blooms in May with racemes of golden yellow flowers 5-6 cm long. The fruits are acorns 2-3 cm long. It requires well-drained soils, ranging from slightly acidic to alkaline. Used alone or in groups in parks, or for lining wide avenues.
