Pyrus calleryana 'Chanticleer'
Tree native to the USA with an upright, oval crown. Deciduous bright green leaves, turning yellow to red in autumn, early to emerge and late to fall, oval and about 10 cm long, fairly tough. Blooms in April with simple white flowers. Pear-like fruits, not very abundant. Prefers neutral to calcareous and fresh soils but also grows in poor ones. Resistant to diseases and pollution, widely used in street plantings.
