Our Plants
Prunus lusticanica 'Angustifolia' BushEvergreen shrub with young red branches with a dense and naturally pyramid-shaped habit that does not require pruning. Pointed, ovate, very dark green, shiny leaves with serrated edges. The white flowers appear in May in 15-25 cm long, erect racemes at the top of the previous year’s growth. Their scent is similar to hawthorn. 10 cm long clusters of dark purple fruit follow the flowers. Hardy but not suited to high altitudes or areas known for major shifts in the local climate, extensive rainfall or strong wind that would spoil the beautiful, glossy foliage. Grows in any standard garden soil and tolerates chalk. Tolerates moderate pruning.
