Ligustrum japonicum (Ligustrum lucidum)
Shrub or small tree native to Japan, China, and Korea with an upright, rounded, and dense crown. Leaves are hard, arched, up to 10 cm long and 6 cm wide, dark green in color. It blooms abundantly from May to August with white-yellow flowers arranged in ascending pyramidal racemes. Hardy, resistant to pollution, sea air, and wind, it tolerates heavy pruning and is used for hedges and shady avenues near the sea.
