Laurus nobilis
Large shrub or tree native to northern Asia but widespread throughout the Mediterranean, with a dense, upright crown and branches starting from the ground. The leaves are tough, bright green, elongated with wavy edges, measuring 5–10 cm long and 2–4 cm wide; they are both ornamental and valued for their aromatic properties. The inconspicuous pale yellow flowers are followed by black berries. It grows in all soil types and is pollution-resistant. It can be pruned into any shape and tolerates pruning well. It is used for hedges, is also cultivated in pots, and is an integral part of the landscape in our country.
