Small tree native to China and Korea. Deciduous pinnate leaves composed of bright green leaflets in spring and yellow-orange in autumn, up to 40 cm long. It blooms in June–July with upright bright yellow racemes up to 30 cm long. It produces round berries that are initially green, then turn pink. It also grows in calcareous soils.
