Shrub with woody branches and a dense crown. Deciduous leaves that are oval or rounded, serrated, tri- or septa-lobed, dark green with a grayish underside, dark red in autumn. It blooms in June-July with large upright clusters of 20-25 cm of pink-red flowers. Requires rich and cool soil.
