Our Plants
Gunnera
A plant native to southern Brazil and Colombia. The leaves are 20 cm wide, very long, rounded, and with serrated edges, supported by spiny petioles and dark green in color. The flowers are green and red-brown, inconspicuous, and grouped in conical spikes up to 1 meter long. It requires high humidity but is not an aquatic plant; in winter, it is best to protect the base with mulch. It is cultivated along the banks of watercourses and at the edges of ponds and fountains.
