Fagus sylvatica
Tree native to the Caucasus and Central Europe with a majestic trunk and gray bark. The deciduous leaves are elliptical with slightly toothed edges, light green in spring, dark green in summer, and in autumn turn colors ranging from yellow to dark red, remaining on the tree until winter. The flowers are inconspicuous and appear only on mature plants, while the fruits resemble nuts with a woody husk. It grows best in fertile, fresh, deep, and non-compact soils, preferring a humid summer climate and cold (but not freezing) winters. It is often found in forests, in groups, but with enough space it can also be used for lining avenues.
