Cycas
A dwarf tree native to Japan with an erect trunk topped by a cluster of evergreen leaves. The leaves are pinnate, slightly curved, about 1.5 meters long, composed of more than 100 bright green leaflets, each 7-8 cm long, leathery and pointed. The male flowers resemble cones with a pineapple scent, while the female flowers are a group of petals arranged like a rose, covered with fine fuzz. When grown in open ground, it requires fertile, moist, well-drained soil, exposed to light but sheltered from direct sunlight. When grown in a pot, it should be watered moderately from spring to autumn, reducing watering during winter.
