Our Plants
Cupressocyparis Leylandii PomponOrigin: England. A hybrid between a Monterey Cypress and Alaska Cedar (Cupressus macrocarpa and Chamaecyparis nootkaensis). Conifer with compact, conical habit with dense, regular branches from the ground, even in adult plants. Leaves: evergreen, dense, soft green, scaly, pointed. Flowers and fruit: monoecious conifer which rarely flowers and bears little fruit. Suitable for all types of soil, even calcareous soil common in the South of Italy and South of France but on the condition that the plant is propagated not by stem cutting, but by grafting onto Cupressus sempervirens which will also ensure an improved anchorage to the ground, an important factor in areas where strong winds blow. Withstands any kind of pruning, even on old trees and re-grows rapidly. Among the most suitable conifers for boundary hedges (2m tall at least) and barriers, as it is the fastest and easiest to grow.
