Crataegus monogyna 'Stricta' StandardLarge shrub or small deciduous tree with thick, columnar crown, regular in the early years, later becoming wide and less dense. Shiny, dark green leaves up to 5 cm long, from ovate to rhomboidal, with 3-7 deep lobes. White, fragrant flowers in flat corymbs in late spring, later than ‘Paul’s Scarlet’, followed by round, shiny red, edible fruit, 6cm long. Prefers deep, fertile, calcareous soil.
