Evergreen shrub with very compact and upright crown. The leaves are hard, dark green even in winter (except for some red shading in case of excessive cold), oval or rounded in shape, 1.5 to 2.5 cm long, 1 to 1.5 cm wide. It has the same cultivation requirements and uses as Buxus sempervirens.
