Acer pseudoplatanus
Native to Central Europe, the Pyrenees, and the Caucasus. Tree with very wide crown and branches longer than the trunk. The deciduous leaves are five-lobed, 8-16 cm wide, dark green on top and covered with gray fuzz underneath; they turn yellow in autumn. Flowers in May with green-yellow clusters. Adapts to all soils and resists wind, heat, and pollution. Very deep roots suitable for stabilizing slopes. Ideal for gardens and parks.
